If you have an interest in money and an eye for detail, an associate degree in Accounting would be a great choice.   

The Accounting program at Pellissippi State offers on-campus and online courses in various accounting fundamentals, from bookkeeping to tax prep, putting you on the path to a versatile and in-demand career. As long as there are businesses, there will be a need for accountants.   

Our program focuses on accounting principles, intermediate accounting, payroll accounting, tax accounting, accounting systems and forensic accounting. It is designed to prepare you to enter the workforce immediately. Nearly 90% of our students find jobs after graduating.   

An integrated internship will give you hands-on experience applying what you learn to other elements of business like marketing, management, finance and information processing.   

If your goal is a bachelor’s degree or beyond, your credits will seamlessly transfer to many four-year state institutions. 

TYPICAL JOB OPPORTUNITIES: Staff accountant, bookkeeper, accounts payable technician, billing specialist, accounts receivable analyst, financial analyst, payroll technician and income tax preparer.
