Pellissippi State proudly welcomes international students to our campuses. We offer English as a Second Language Courses to help you develop writing, reading, grammar, speaking and listening skills.   1. Apply to attend Pellissippi State.

Application deadlines are listed in the Loading... and in Important Academic Dates.



  1. Submit proof of immunization during the application process. Also acquire from your health professional, and submit, a Certification of Freedom from Tuberculosis.


  1. Check myPellissippi and your Pellissippi State email often during the enrollment process.

Within 48 hours of completing your application to Pellissippi State, you will receive an email with information about myPellissippi. myPellissippi is your personal online account with Pellissippi State, and it is where we will send all of your notices about applying for financial aid, paying fees, confirming attendance, registering for classes and even seeing your grades and requesting transcripts. You will receive all official college communications through your Pellissippi State email.

The first time you log in, you will need to change your password. Your first password is always a capital “P” followed by your student ID number and the “#” sign. This password will only work once. The first time you log in, change your password to something unique and memorable.

You may log into your Pellissippi State email once your account is set up. If have problems logging in, follow these steps to gain access to your email account. You can also set up your Pellissippi State email on your mobile device. If you have issues, call HelpDesk at 865-694-6537.


  1. Demonstrate English proficiency.

You can demonstrate English proficiency in a number of ways: through the International English Language Testing System, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, proof of graduation from a U.S. high school, or proof of successful completion of a college-level English composition course.   1. Submit an official copy of your high school transcript, GED or other college transcript. Transcripts need to be submitted through an approved credential evaluation service.


  1. Complete the Immigration Information Form.


  1. Complete the I-20 Request Form.


  1. Complete the Financial Support Form, along with the signature of your sponsor.


  1. Submit a photocopy of the identification page and expiration date of your passport.


  1. Tennessee state law requires all international students have health insurance.

A health insurance fee will be placed on your Pellissippi State account at the beginning of each semester unless you submit proof of alternate health insurance that covers you for the duration of your academic stay at Pellissippi State.


  1. RSVP to attend a New Student Orientation at Pellissippi State.

Be sure to select an International student session.


  1. Confirm your schedule and pay tuition & fees.

Once all of previous steps are completed — including registering for classes — all students must confirm their schedule and pay tuition and fees. After any financial aid awards you receive appear on the confirmation screen in myPellissippi, you must confirm your schedule and pay any remaining tuition and fees. If your financial aid covers the cost of tuition and fees, you still must confirm your schedule. Students who do not confirm their schedules run the risk of having their schedules deleted. 

If you were selected for FAFSA verification and are not able to complete verification by the Schedule Confirmation and Fee Deadline, you will need to set up a payment arrangement with the Cashier or risk being dropped from class.
