Introduction to Lean Manufacturing

This workshop provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the Lean Manufacturing concept and working knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, and Project Management. Topics to be covered: Overview of Lean Manufacturing; Identifying Constraints; Problem Solving; Lean Concepts of Batch, One-piece Flow, and Pull system; What is a Value Stream; Value Stream Waste Identification; Material & Information Flow Icons; Selecting a Product Family; The Value Stream Manager; Value Stream Mapping Tools; Conducting Value Stream Mapping; Develop Current State Map Presentation; Seeing the Whole Value Stream; Identifying Value Adding and Non-Value; Value Stream Standardization; Develop Future State Map; Develop Ideal Future State Map; and Project Identification.

Lean Manufacturing Overview
1 Day Workshop/8 Class Hours, .8 CEU, $245
Participants will gain in-sight in how to increase cash flow and operating profits with a lean process by focusing on elimination of waste within the process to include incoming freight, out going freight and all processes in between.  Lean production is not about elimination of people.  It is about expanding production capacity by reducing cost and shortening cycle times between order and ship date.  Lean in about understanding what is important to the customer. Topics to be covered: What is Lean Manufacturing?; 5S and visual controls;                 Kaizen; Value streams; JIT and Pull manufacturing; Jidoka; 3P–production preparation process; Mistake proofing; Quick changeover (SMED); Six Sigma; Lean Accounting; Theory of constraints; and Human factors.

LEAN METHODS CERTIFICATE SERIES

This certificate program is for companies that wish to utilize Lean concepts and customize Lean methods to their specific business or operation to reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and improve bottom line profit. The program can be delivered as specific Lean modules or we can assist companies in developing a company wide Lean initiative program from training to project implementation. This can include White Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt training.
