FEATURECAM TRAINING CENTER
As an authorized FeatureCAM Training Center (FTC) for Delcam U.S.A., Pellissippi State Technical Community College is certified to offer classes in programming of FeatureCAM software: FeatureMILL, FeatureMILL-3D and FeatureTURN. Topics for each course include basic Microsoft Windows operation, tool database, creating geometry, defining part features, generating process plan, post-processing, and program downloading. Each course will also include instruction on creating and modifying of post-processors for various CNC controllers.

Courses are structured to accommodate both the first-time user and the experienced FeatureCAM programmer who needs upgrading to the most current version. Students should have a working knowledge of plane geometry and basic machining practices. Prior experience in basic microcomputer operations and MDI programming helpful, but not required. It is recommended that individuals bring their own software manuals.

FeatureMILL-3D: Current Version
24 Class Hours, 2.4 CEU; $550
FeatureMILL 3D is an advanced software training course for 3 axis CNC milling operations. FeatureCAM is a Windows-based package which introduces a new “feature-based” concept in software programming. The course will include such topics as tooling data base, creating surfaces, generating tool paths, setting manufacturing attributes, machining simulation, post-processing, and program downloading. Student must have previous experience or training in FeatureMILL.

FeatureTURN: Current Version

FeatureTURN is a software based training course for 2 axis CNC turning operations. FeatureCAM is a Windows-based package which introduces a new “feature-based” concept in software programming. The course will include such topics as tooling data base, creating features, generating tool paths, setting manufacturing attributes, machining simulation, post-processing, and program downloading. Student should have a working knowledge of plane geometry, standard machining practices, and basic computer operations. Prior experience with MDI programming and Windows helpful, but not required.

HAAS Technical Center
As an authorized Haas Technical Center (HTC) for Haas Automation, Inc., Pellissippi State Technical Community College offers classes in basic CNC Theory and Haas/Fanuc style controller functions, manual data input (MDI), and tooling set-ups. Both courses are structured to accommodate students who are new to CNC and those with CNC experience who wish to learn basic Haas/Fanuc style controller operations. For convenience, these courses are offered on consecutive days; however, students that already possess knowledge of CNC basics and G-codes may wish to take only the Haas/Fanuc training.

Students should have a basic knowledge of standard machining practices. No materials are required; however, students may wish to bring pencil and paper for taking notes.
