MY PC SERIES

Pellissippi State Community College's Business and Community Services division, along with Microsoft, bring you innovative computer training programs for adults. This fun, new series is based on extensive research about how less tech-savvy adult computer users want to learn new computer skills. It's easier than you have ever imagined. If you can click a mouse, you can edit a digital photo, turn your photos into a movie that tells a story, and use a webcam to stay in touch.

All workshops use free Windows®-based tools from Microsoft that you can download later at home. Don't be intimidated by your computer anymore! Learn what your kids and grandkids already know. Age is relative–knowledge is timeless. Take control of your learning curve with easy, 'getting started', jargon-free workshops delivered at a pace you can enjoy, in a classroom type environment with loads of hands-on time. A series of three-hour basic computer and personal enrichment workshops designed for less tech-savvy adult learners. Appropriate as an on-ramp to workforce development programs.

Social Media Marketing Workshop for Business
8 Class Hours, .8 CEU, $250

The social web is the most revolutionary marketing development since the radio. While this new channel has undeniable business benefits, it can also be frustrating, overwhelming and time-consuming for the newcomer. This lively four-part, hands-on workshop will unravel the mysteries of social media, focus on tangible business value and help you develop an effective approach for your business.

Special focus will be placed on developing an appropriate strategy and hands-on use of tools such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube as marketing platforms. The class size is limited to provide ample opportunity for discussion and problem-solving. Students only need a basic understanding of the Internet and web navigation to benefit from this class.
