Do you know what your dream home looks like? If you are hunting for a new home or planning on building one, this class is for you. It includes choosing a “good” neighborhood; porches, patios, decks, and foyers; the basics of a functional kitchen; recognizing a peaceful master bedroom; safe and fun children's bedrooms; family rooms that work; choosing appliances, windows and doors;, and many other topics. You will be able to easily answer questions like “should we get a jacuzzi?” Learn how to choose a home that matches your personality, expectations and budget; a home where you can feel relaxed as well as energized which allows room for your hobbies, interests and needs. Don't just watch HGTV. Come to this class and learn the basic concepts for a FUNCTIONAL home from a professional architect.

Parents, Children & Divorce
Approved 4-hour Parent Education Course for Tennessee Judicial District 5 (Blount County) and District 6 (Knox County). Parents must register for the class through Pellissippi State at 539-7167. Classes are offered once monthly on Thursday evenings at the Magnolia Avenue and Pellissippi Campuses, and Saturday mornings at the Pellissippi Campus. Instructors have a master's degree or better in a related field, such as social work or psychology, or are Rule 31 certified mediators.

Communicating What Matters
Having difficulty getting your message across to family, friends, co-workers and those people on the other side of the fence? Learn how to engage with people so they are willing to hear you and find ways to express what matters to you so that your listeners can hear you. Instructor Marcia Walker studied Counseling Psychology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and is certified by The Coach Training Alliance. She is a member of The East Tennessee Coaches Association.

Basic Genealogy
This course is designed to help you get started tracing your family tree using the internet. You will learn how to start the process, and will receive information that all family historians need in order to interpret various records you will come across during your research. Links to valuable research sources both on and off the internet are provided as well as a full definition of terms and much more. The instructor is a former Registrar for the Tennessee Society of Sons of the Revolution and is a Genealogist/Historian with 25 years experience. He is a local speaker and author of several genealogical publications.
