Personal Development—PHOTOGRAPHY
Basic Digital Photography
Learn how to effectively use your digital camera including exposure, composition, lighting and color theory. Learn the basics of photographing people, architecture, landscapes and nature-assignments. In-class critiques of images produced by the students. Students must bring a digital SLR camera to class. (A point and shoot camera may be used if it can be put in manual mode.)

Lynn Freeny has more than 25 years experience as a full-time professional photographer. He has a degree in art from the University of Tennessee and has taught photography workshops and college classes throughout his career. Freeny’s images have appeared in Wilderness, Nature, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Blue Ridge Country and many other national and international publications.
Beyond Basic Digital Photography
This class concentrates on the artistic end of photography. With three classes and two field trips, you will learn how to see with a camera and capture the most interesting subjects on location. One field trip will be to Cades Cove and one to Market Square. Critique sessions will be held after each field trip.
