Introduction to Scuba Diving
This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of scuba diving, as well as providing all necessary classroom and pool training that a recreational diver must have prior to taking the qualifying dives required for SSI certification. Personal snorkeling gear (mask, fins, snorkel and boots) required.
Maximum 12 students per class and minimum of 6.

An Introduction to Golf NEW!
An introduction to the game of golf for novices or those that wish to secure a better understanding of the basic mechanics, history, and methodology of the game of golf. The objectives of this course include becoming familiar with the equipment and vocabulary of the game; getting used to controlled motion for chipping/putting, etc; practicing the basic mechanics of swing—grip, stance, alignment, and how they affect the ball in flight; learning how “arc” and plane affect the ball. We will also discuss structure of a golf course, golf etiquette, and we will go through the process of checking in at a golf course, paying fees, operating a golf cart, and actually playing a hole. The instructor is a Class A PGA Golf Professional.

Flyfish 101
Have you thought about fly-fishing but did not know how to get started? Here is the way. Start at the beginning and learn the right way about: fly rod and reel; line, leader and tippet; how to rig your outfit; what you will need; where to find fish; how to cast (casting demonstration, weather permitting); and types of flies. This introductory course is ideally suited to either men or women. It is good for those who have never fly fished and those who have begun but want a better understanding of the basics. The instructor is a guide, custom rod maker and member of Foothills Craft Guild and Custom Rod Makers Guild.
$75 per single/$60 for each additional family member registering at the same time.

Lessons are for one hour each session and may be scheduled at various times. Free ski time is included in each meeting; therefore, time spent for class can be as much as 12 hours or as little as four, depending on your level of enjoyment. Participants must return Pellissippi State liability forms before attending class. If participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be present to sign the rental forms prior to skiing each session.

This ground self-defense program includes in-depth training in both ground and standing joint locks, chokes, and striking. Like our Karate program you may choose to specialize your training in one or more of these areas. These classes are suitable for any skill level and any age.

Recreational GPS Use
This course is designed for people who are beginner to intermediate users of GPS in any form of recreational activity such as hunting, fishing, camping, biking, backpacking, etc. It will teach the basics of how a GPS unit works, to help people understand how and why they cannot sometimes get a signal, as well as the basics of how to use the GPS unit. Classroom and practical application will apply.
