Creating Your Stepfamily
A stepfamily is not an instant family, as some might hope. Each stepfamily
is a work in progress which will go through some predictable stages, much
like any group of people do who create something together. Understanding
the characteristics, challenges, and benefits of each stage can help you
create the loving, lasting family that you want. Once we've learned about
the stages, you will have a chance to identify the current tasks and challenges
your family has in the stage you are in now. By the end of the session,
you will also have some tips for navigating those challenges.

The Stepfamily Adventure
Building a stepfamily is a creative adventure! Without a guidebook for
creating our stepfamilies, we find our own ways to become "family."
And yet there are some predictable stages of development that can help
take some of the mystery, confusion and frustration out of your stepfamily
experience. Building on "Creating Your Stepfamily," this course
will help you understand in more depth what needs to happen at each stage
and how to weather the stages and transitions that your family is going
through. The focus will be on applying what you learn to your own family
situation. Each session will address a different stage of the process,
help you make sense of what's happening in your family, and make specific
plans for next steps in creating the loving stepfamily that you had in
mind when you formed it. Participants must complete "Creating Your
Stepfamily" before enrolling in this course.

Have you ever wanted to learn to play the mountain dulcimer but didn't
know where to get lessons? Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument
but didn't think you could? The mountain dulcimer might be for YOU. No
