The Quality and Productivity
program provides resources through which area business and industry can
receive education, training, and leadership in quality management and productivity.
Quality development resources include on-site, customized training programs,
public seminars and short courses, teleconferences, consulting, and business
forums. The program supports companies at all stages of the ISO 9000 and
QS 9000 registration process. Productivity programs include training in
quality tools, team building and problem solving.
The Environmental program assists area business, industry and government
in understanding environmental and safety regulations and in meeting compliance
requirements. The program also provides retraining and certification opportunities
for persons involved in environmental, safety, and waste management occupations.
The College also offers courses and assistance for companies planning to
implement the ISO 14000 environmental management system.
ASQ
Examination Review Courses
For over 25 years, the American
Society for Quality (ASQ) has certified quality professionals, ASQ-Knoxville
and Pellissippi State offer courses that prepare participants to sit for
the certification exams. Exams are held regularly on our campus. The ASQ-sponsored
review courses are intended for individuals with previous training, education,
and experience in those fields. The purpose of these courses is to refresh
one's knowledge and to review information already known, not to teach new
concepts.
Certified Quality Technician/Mechanical Inspector
(CQT/CMI) Review
33 Class Hours, 3.3 CEU, $370
The quality technician analyzes and solves
quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects
sampling plan applications, prepares procedures, trains inspectors, performs
audits, analyzes quality costs and other quality data, and applies fundamental
statistical methods for process control.
