Pellissippi State Faculty Senate Book Sale raises more than $5,000

Thanks to thousands of books and their new owners, more students at Pellissippi State Community College may stand to benefit from future scholarships.

The annual Faculty Senate Book Sale recently held at all four Pellissippi State campuses raised $5,557, the proceeds of which go to the Pellissippi State Foundation. The Foundation supports student enrichment services by providing scholarships, new technology and equipment. Funds raised at the sale are earmarked for the Faculty Senate Scholarship, which provides tuition and fees for full-time students who maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and meet additional scholarship criteria.

Merchandise at the sale consisted of new and gently used books, CDs, DVDs, videos, vinyl, magazines, calendars, puzzles and computer games. The book sale is held every year in March.
