Individuals interested in obtaining the designation of Project Management Professional, which recognizes demonstrated competence in directing project teams, can prepare for the certification exam by enrolling in “Project Management Seminar,” offered by Pellissippi State Community College.
Slated to begin May 5 and continue Thursdays through July 7, the seminar is co-sponsored by the East Tennessee chapter of the Project Management Institute. The class is meant to enhance professional growth opportunities for participants in industry, service, health care, information management and other organizations in which cost, schedule, quality or performance is critical to success. Students will learn state-of-the-art project management techniques during the 10-week series.
The seminar also prepares attendees for the PMP certification exam. Pellissippi State’s upcoming seminar is the last one to prepare students for the current test. Beginning on Aug. 31, a new version of the PMP certification exam will be given to all examinees.
All seminar sessions are on the Pellissippi Campus, 10915 Hardin Valley Road. Class times are 6-9:30 p.m. The fee is $500 for PMI members and $600 for non-members. A total of 3.5 CEUs (continuing education units) are available.
