Pellissippi State Community College President Allen Edwards was honored with the Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award at Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention in Seattle in April.
He was one of seven retiring college presidents and campus CEOs presented the award. PTK International Honor Society, the largest honor society in American higher education, chose Edwards for the award because he has provided many years of committed service to PTK and to the Pellissippi State campus chapter. He did not attend the convention.
Also in April, Edwards was recognized during the Presidents Academy Hail and Farewell Luncheon at the American Association of Community Colleges Annual Business Meeting in New Orleans.
Edwards has been president of Pellissippi State since 1993. His retirement becomes effective June 30.
