Whether you are a novice or a more experienced ice skater who would like to improve his or her skills, the instructors of “Ice Skating 101” will tailor the curriculum to your ability. The eight-week class, offered by Pellissippi State Community College, is led by professional coaching staff at Cool Sports, home of the Icearium.
Students will develop proper skating techniques and learn the rules of the sport. The course includes a weekly 30-minute lesson. An added bonus: The lesson is followed by one hour of practice time on the ice.
The course meets on Wednesdays, Nov. 2-Dec. 21, 12:30-1 p.m., and practice is 1-2 p.m. All sessions meet at Cool Sports, 110 S. Watt Rd.
The $85 fee covers the lesson and practice, as well as skate rental. “Ice Skating 101” is open only to students who are at least 18 years of age. The registration deadline is Oct. 26.
