Dig through those closets between now and Nov. 18 and bring your gently used coats to the Pellissippi Campus for this year’s “Recycle for a Cause—Coats for the Cold Collection.”
The drive is coordinated by TriO Student Support Services. All coats collected will be taken to Prestige Cleaners, which will clean and deliver them to Knox Area Rescue Ministries for the “Coats for the Cold 2011” drive.
Last year, KARM and partners WIVK-FM and WVLT-TV distributed nearly 8,000 free coats to those in need. This year coats will be given out on Dec. 3.
There are plenty of collection boxes on the Pellissippi Campus, so collection participants should drop their gently used coats off by Nov. 18. Box locations include the following:
- Alexander Building—first floor, next to elevator
- Bagwell Center—Student Lounge
- ERC—TriO office, Room 218
- Goins Building—College Center, next to Financial Aid
- McWherter Building, first floor, near vending area
- McWherter Building—third floor, Lounge
