The Marketing and Communications Office of Pellissippi State Community College was recognized recently with four awards for excellence in public relations. Two of the awards were gold, one was silver and one was bronze.
The recognition was bestowed by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations at the District 2 2011 Conference, which took place Oct. 16-19 in Atlanta.
NCMPR is the only organization that represents the marketing and public relations professionals of technical and community colleges. Pellissippi State was competing with schools based in 11 Southeastern states, as well as in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.
Submissions were judged on overall creativity, marketing execution and impact of message. Pellissippi State was recognized in the following categories:
Original Photography (gold)—“Blues and Balloons”
Original Photography (gold)—“Daybreak”
Print Advertising, Single Ad (silver)—“Secret Ingredient”
College Promotional Video (bronze)—“College Guy”
“It is such an honor to be recognized at this level for professionalism in community college public relations,” said Julia Wood, director of Marketing and Communications at Pellissippi State. “We’re fortunate to have talented individuals who really come together to make a top-notch marketing team.”
