Female string quartet gives holiday concert at Pellissippi State’s Magnolia Avenue Campus

Pellissippi State Community College’s Magnolia Avenue Campus rings in the holiday season with a concert by the Delights String Quartet.

The all-female ensemble, with members from the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, performs noon-1 Thursday, Dec. 8, in the Community Room of the campus’ main facility, newly named the Joe Armstrong Building. The Magnolia Avenue Campus is located at 1610 E. Magnolia Ave.

The event is free, and the community is encouraged to attend.

The concert is expected to include compositions by Franz Joseph Haydn, jazz, rock songs arranged for string quartet and holiday tunes. Members of the quartet will discuss each selection and encourage audience participation.

Known for being eclectic and engaging, the Delights String Quartet performs every year at Pellissippi State. The group has been featured on WDVX radio and on East Tennessee public television’s Kids’ Club.
