This fall, students at Pellissippi State Community College’s Strawberry Plains Campus have the option of enrolling in two Engineering Technology concentrations and a number of courses newly available at the East Knox County site.
Registration for the fall 2015 semester is going on now. The application deadline for fall is Aug. 12, and classes begin Aug. 24.
The new concentrations, both in the Engineering Technology associate’s degree program, are Industrial Maintenance and Mechanical Engineering. Industrial Maintenance prepares graduates for careers with manufacturing companies serving as industrial machinery maintenance and repair technicians. Mechanical Engineering teaches students skills related to mechanical component and system design.
Courses in the Engineering Technology program also have been added in shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding. The concentrations and courses also are available at Pellissippi State’s Hardin Valley Campus.
