Your generous gifts are helping fulfill dreams, impact lives and change the future.
Pellissippi State Community College and the Pellissippi State Foundation issue their sincerest thank-yous for the many generous donations given on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The Foundation raised $12,156 on Giving Tuesday for student scholarships, surpassing its goal of $10,000.
One hundred percent of those funds will go straight to student scholarships. Many of the scholarships will help students who without the Foundation’s financial support might not be able to attend college. Many Pellissippi State students don’t qualify for federal loans, grants or even the new Tennessee Promise funding. In fact, of the student scholarship recipients last year, 86 percent wouldn’t have qualified for Tennessee Promise.
“Our many generous donors—plus everyone who helped spread the word about Giving Tuesday in person, through email and on social media—have helped change the lives of dozens of students,” says Peggy Wilson, vice president of College Advancement and executive director of the Pellissippi State Foundation.
“Thank you to everyone who supported Pellissippi State students. Your generosity has made a huge difference.”
“I will not take one moment or gift for granted,” says Ashley Albritton, a scholarship recipient. “These scholarships serve as a constant reminder that someone believes in me! I’ll do my best every moment of every day. With every success, each one of you will be with me and you’ll be part of the change for the better in this world.”
