Media Technologies/ Audio Production Engineering Program Expansion

Estimated Need: $800,000

Knoxville is one of the largest video production markets in the nation. Area media production companies clamor for highly-trained employees. Pellissippi State’s Bagwell Center for Media and Art houses the College’s Media Technologies program, which prepares talented graduates to fill jobs from video shooting and editing, to audio production and digital animation.

But media technology changes rapidly, and the equipment and software must be regularly updated. In addition, Pellissippi State has added new areas to its Media Technologies program to stay relevant with industry needs. Audio Production Engineering and Animation are the two newest options for students who study video production.

Audio Production Engineering graduates will be trained in acoustics, studio recording, editing, mixing, producing and sound design — skills in high demand by Knoxville’s media industry. Animation focuses on skills and knowledge required to succeed in the competitive fields of animation, motion graphics, visual effects and visualization.

Your support will allow Pellissippi State to add new, fully equipped studio spaces in the Bagwell Center to allow for expansion in these areas.

In addition, Pellissippi State plans to expand its Audio Production Engineering offerings to the Magnolia Avenue Campus. This will provide additional student access to this growing area without having to travel to the Hardin Valley Campus.
