Opportunties for Early Childhood Education
Blount County Campus
The Early Childhood Education certificate updates the level of training and opportunities for employment, offering four of the courses required for the Child Development Associate (CDA). This certificate provides an interim step between the CDE and the degree, giving sudents the confidence and motivation to continue on the pathway toward the Early Childhood Education, A.A.S. degree.
The Early Childhood Education Program is excited to announce an opportunity for students seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education. Students will be able to complete all of the requirements for the Associate of Applied Science degree going two nights a week at our Magnolia location. In just two years, students will gain new knowledge and skills in early childhood education that will improve their practice and prepare them for multiple opportunities in the ECED field. This includes career opportunities working as teachers, assistant teachers, and administrators in a variety of settings including Head Start, center-based child care, family child care, and after school care.
This program is ideal for those students who work during the regular school day, have family or other responsibilities or may have been out of school for a while. The degree can be completed in four semesters (fall and spring). Most courses are five weeks and meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.
