Pellissippi State Foundation’s Artique 2004 proves to be an elegant event The Knoxville Marriott provided a splendid setting for Artique 2004 on Saturday, May 15. The fundraising event for the Pellissippi State Foundation was hosted by Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale and his wife, Claudia, along with Dr. Allen Edwards, president of Pellissippi State Technical Community College, and his wife, Dr. Sue Bunney. Over 400 guests were welcomed to the gala dinner and auction, which featured original artwork in various media by premier artists of the region. In addition, Peggy Lambert, a local antique dealer, offered an eclectic mix of international antiques from her collection. Guests were given the opportunity to bid on the art and antiques through a silent and a live auction. William “Bear” Stephenson of Stephenson Realty and Auction served as auctioneer, and Rick Bennett from Bennett Galleries Company was the commentator for the evening. The banquet hall was elegantly designed by Jim Harness of The Interior Market, Inc. A lovely arrangement of purple irises and pink tulips amidst a bed of moss adorned the table. The stage and runway sported magnificent spring baskets of pink azaleas, white and yellow chrysanthemums, ferns and an arrangement of purple irises.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Pellissippi State Foundation’s Greatest Need Fund and Nursing Program Fund.
