Pellissippi State offers beginning sign language
Learn the basics of American Sign Language at Pellissippi State Technical Community College beginning Feb. 20 on the Pellissippi Campus and Feb. 22 at the Blount County Center.The course will cover various aspects of local deaf culture, ASL culture, terminology and many signs.
The Pellissippi Campus class meets Tuesdays, Feb. 20-April 10, and the one at the Blount County Center meets Thursdays, Feb. 22-April 19, with no class on March 8. Both classes are 6-8:30 p.m.
The fee for the course is $95, plus $35 for materials.
The Pellissippi Campus is on Hardin Valley Road in West Knox County, and the Blount County Center is in Alcoa.
