March 26, 2007 Adult Education Program at Pellissippi State offers free ESOL and TOEFL classesThe Adult Education Program at Pellissippi State Technical Community College is offering free English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) classes from now through May 12 at various locations around Knoxville.In the Oak Ridge and West Knoxville areas, students can take beginner through advanced ESOL classes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge from 6-8 p.m.on Mondays and Wednesdays; intermediate to advanced ESOL classes at the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Rd. in west Knoxville from 1-3 p.m. on Mondays, noon - 2 p.m. on Thursdays, or 5 - 8 p.m on Mondays and Wednesdays; beginner to advanced classes at West Hills Elmentary School on Vanosdale Road from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays; and TOEFL preparation classes at the Pellissippi State Campus from 5:30 - 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. In the downtown/University of Tennessee area, beginner and intermediate ESOL classes are offered at Alianza del Pueblo on Martin Mill Pike from 6 - 8 p.m.on Tuesdays and Thursdays; intermediate to advanced ESOL and TOEFL classes are taught at Christ Chapel on Highland Ave. from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays (child care is available); and beginner through advanced ESOL classes are offered at Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Central from 4 - 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays. In the North Knoxville area, beginner through intermediate ESOL classes are offered at Norwood Manor Apartments on Tillery Road from 6-8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
