Pellissippi State offers free GED testsIf money has been your holdup, there is nothing stopping you from getting your GED now! The Adult Education program at Pellissippi State Technical Community College is offering the GED test free of charge to eligible adults. The test normally costs $55. The GED test is free if you earn a minimum score of 430 on each of the official practice test subtests and have an overall test average of 480. Additionally, adults ages 18 and older no longer need an official age waiver or withdrawal form from high school to be eligible to take the exam. The test is being offered at no cost thanks to funding from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Those interested should come to the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Road or the Magnolia Avenue Campus for free instruction and a free official practice test. Participants can earn a GED diploma in as little as a couple of weeks. Call the Adult Education program at Pellissippi State, (865) 539-7109, to schedule an appointment or to find out more.
