March 20, 2007 Career Center offers workshop on job survivalBeginning in April, the Heart of Knoxville Career and Resource Center is offering a free six-part workshop series focusing on workplace skills important to getting and keeping a job.The center is located at the Magnolia Avenue Campus of Pellissippi State Technical Community College, 1610 E. Magnolia Ave. The series is designed for first-time job seekers, students and anyone else seeking insight on how to move ahead in a job. The sessions are presented in an interactive format to teach and reinforce skills such as teamwork, goal setting, prioritizing, keeping a positive attitude and developing good work habits. The workshop series meets 1-3 p.m. in the Career Center Conference Room on April 5, 10, 17, 19, 24 and 26. Space and materials are limited, and preregistration is required by March 29.
