March 13, 2007 Pellissippi State presents companion plays, ‘Lone Star’ and ‘Laundry and Bourbon’Pellissippi State Technical Community College presents two companion James McClure plays—“Lone Star” and “Laundry and Bourbon”—in March and April. The plays will be in the Performing Arts Center on the Pellissippi Campus March 23-24 and 30-31 at 8 p.m. and April 1 at 2 p.m. Parking is free. “These two plays are a raucous and hilarious look at life in small-town Texas,” said Charles Miller, associate professor of Theatre. “Laundry and Bourbon” is about three women dealing with marriage to three wild and troubled men, and “Lone Star” is about those three husbands. In “Laundry and Bourbon,” the action centers on the unhappiness and gossip of three small-town wives whose marriages are less than the women had hoped for. The setting for “Lone Star” is the back yard of a small-town Texas bar, where the three husbands discuss their situations. Representatives from the Pellissippi State Foundation will be on hand to collect admission, which is $8 for general admission and $6 for students, faculty and staff. Proceeds go to the Foundation to support the Pellissippi State Drama Club and the Theatre program. The plays contain adult language and themes and are not appropriate for children.
