March 7, 2007 Pellissippi State marketing students host seminar on business etiquetteThe student chapter of the American Marketing Association at Pellissippi State Technical Community College will host a seminar on business etiquette March 15, 12:30-2 p.m.The free seminar is open to the public and will be in the Goins Auditorium on the Pellissippi Campus. Students and faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. “Understanding the rules of business and etiquette allows students to be more prepared for the challenges of the workplace and provides a firm foundation for a successful career,” said Anne Swartzlander, professor of marketing at Pellissippi State. Stacey Evans, assistant vice president for School Solutions at Edfinancial Services in Knoxville, will be the speaker for the event. The School Solutions department is responsible for providing consultation and training (technical and professional development) for Edfinancial clients. Professional conduct, relationship management and business functions are some of the topics the seminar will cover. Characteristics of successful people and communication etiquette at meetings and in e-mail, face-to-face and phone conversations will also be included.
