Feb. 28, 2007 Pellissippi State sees second semester of record-high enrollmentFor the second semester in a row, Pellissippi State Technical Community College has experienced its highest enrollment ever.The number of credit-seeking students enrolled spring 2007 is 7,877 students, up 7.65 percent from spring 2006. The college also enjoyed a record enrollment fall semester. “Our faculty and staff are excited about the growing numbers of new students we’re serving in our excellent career/technical and college transfer programs, as well as about the increased number of students who are nearing degree completion,” said Anthony Wise. Wise is department head of Liberal Arts and interim vice president for Academic and Student Affairs at Pellissippi State. Pellissippi State offers 13 “career/technical” degree programs for students who plan to earn a two-year associate’s degree, then pursue a career. The college also has numerous “college transfer” options for students who want to earn a two-year degree and continue on to a four-year school.
