Pellissippi State hosts job fair for adjunct faculty positions

If you have a love of teaching and an interest in working part time, then you won’t want to miss Pellissippi State Technical Community College’s job fair for adjunct faculty on Tuesday, May 20.

Pellissippi State needs individuals to fill numerous adjunct faculty positions for the fall semester. The college will give potential applicants a chance to ask academic deans and program coordinators questions about the openings in their areas.

Most positions, all of which are part time, are for day courses, and most require a master’s degree in a related area and 18 graduate hours in the teaching field.

The fair takes place 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Goins Administration Building Cafeteria on the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Road.

Positions are available in the following areas: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Child and Family Studies, Civil Engineering Technology (surveying courses), Computer Integrated Drafting and Design, Computer Science and Information Technology (especially Linux and Networking), Developmental Mathematics, Developmental Reading, Developmental Writing, Early Childhood Education, Economics, Electrical Engineering Technology, English, History, Management, Mathematics (especially statistics), Marketing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Office Systems Technology–MS Office 2007, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Spanish, Speech Communications, Video Production Technology (especially game design), Web Technology (requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area and three years’ related work experience), and the electrical, mechanical and industrial maintenance fields (all non-credit classes).
