Now you too can learn the ins and outs of flipping—buying property, then selling it at a higher price. Pellissippi State Technical Community College’s Business and Community Services Division is offering a one-session course on “Flipping Real Estate Properties for Profit.” The class is March 13, 6-9 p.m. in Room 151 of the Alexander Building on the Pellissippi Campus on Hardin Valley Road. The cost is $45. The class covers the basics, as well as the pros and cons of the three flipping methods: wholesaling, retailing and “bird-dogging.” Students will learn all phases of the flipping process, including how to find properties by thinking outside the box and using the new U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. The instructor, Theresa McLeod, owns McLeod Enterprises. A paralegal, she has been a practitioner in the real estate industry for more than 25 years as a licensed affiliate broker, a licensed appraiser intern, a licensed contractor in Tennessee and an investment flipper.
