Pellissippi State Foundation receives $15,000 for van work

The Pellissippi State Foundation has received $15,000 from the Alcoa Foundation to continue outfitting the College’s “Techno-Van.” (more)



Brahams to head Business and Community Services

Teri Brahams, formerly director of the Knoxville area office of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, is the new executive director of Business and Community Services. (more)



Edwards attends Bush administration educational meeting

Pellissippi State President Allen Edwards was one of about 120 college and university presidents from across the country who met last week in Washington, D.C., to discuss the drop in college enrollment by international students. (more)



Affholter participates in Seattle supercomputing conference

Kathleen Affholter, a geology and earth science instructor, was one of eight educators from East Tennessee who participated in the national Supercomputing 2005 Conference in Seattle. (more)



New Student Orientation set for January 13

Students coming to Pellissippi State for the first time in January are being encouraged to take part in a spring semester orientation January 13, beginning at 8:45 a.m.

An Edison Electric Institute test preparation course will be given at Pellissippi State beginning January 31. (more)



Pellissippi State becomes college home for international students

A tour bus ride in southern Germany showed Luanne Dagley more than the Bavarian Alps. It also introduced her to Ulli Sczesni, a 30-something bus driver with a desire for more education. (more)

Major responsibilities: Administering tests (ACT, ASSET, CBASE, CLEP, DANTES, makeup, etc.), scoring ACT and ASSET tests, scheduling testing appointments, working with Admissions and Records on the CBASE exit exam, working in the Testing Center office, updating CLEP and DANTES as required and fulfilling other duties as required.

Length of service at the College: Six years
