Who” selects 13 from Pellissippi State
Thirteen students from Pellissippi State
have been included in the 2007 edition of “Who’s
Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.” (more)

hosts regional competition of U.S. Academic Decathlon
Students
from four area high schools will compete in the East Tennessee
Regional Competition of the U.S. Academic Decathlon on January
27 at Pellissippi State. Teams from Loudon, Seymour, Heritage
and William Blount high schools have been preparing for
months to take a series of written tests related to this
year’s competition theme, “China and Its Influence
on the World.” (more)
Throughout 2007 “Inside Pellissippi” will
focus on success stories of faculty or staff members
who have been involved in initiatives to help students.
Of those stories, many will focus on Foundations of
Excellence in the First College Year, which is an
effort specifically aimed at helping first-year students
succeed. Others will focus on student success stories
from various employees who work with students.

Wood: Priority Registration numbers boosted by reward
program
Gayle Wood, assistant to the director of Admissions
and Records, says she has seen positive results from
an incentive program she has coordinated the past
two years to encourage black students to Priority

named ‘Dining Center of the Year’
The Cafeteria has just been named “Dining
Center of the Year” by Compass Group, the world’s
