Family members: Husband James (Jim), a firefighter/EMT; stepdaughter Sara, 15, a student at Powell Middle School

Something no one knows about you: I play in the handbell choir at church.

Greatest achievement or proudest moment: Being nominated multiple times for “Who’s Who Among American Teachers” by my students.

Favorite things outside work: Playing handbells, swimming, painting, dancing.

Most rewarding part of your job: Positive interaction with students and faculty; being understood.

Most influential person in your life and why: My father, because he taught me to be thorough in inquiry and investigation before reaching my own conclusions.

Favorite quote: “Paper holds still; you can write anything on it.” Donald Froemsdorf (my father). In other words, just because something is printed (in a book, a journal or on the Web) doesn’t necessarily make it true.
