Inside Pellissippi

Choosing a career is topic of Black History presentation

Former television reporter and motivational speaker Mark Ritchie will share his thoughts on choosing a purposeful career as part of the Black History Month celebration February 16 at 12:15 p.m. in the Goins Auditorium.

Ritchie is the head of Mark Ritchie Unlimited, a consulting firm that specializes in personal and staff development and training. He says his mission is to help others experience personal fulfillment by discovering and living out their unique purpose in life.

Ritchie may be best known locally as a former reporter for WATE-TV. He was also director of the Office of Public Affairs for Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe during 2002-03. Ritchie serves on the board of directors for the Knoxville Leadership Foundation and for Positively Living.

Ritchie has been speaking to audiences for more than 20 years in person, on television and on radio. He has served as public relations director and marketing coordinator for Freedom Life Ministries, Inc., in Montgomery, Alabama. He produced a syndicated radio talk show that has aired in 10 markets in Alabama and Florida and has produced and hosted a weekly public affairs television show, “Freedom Life Magazine.” He also worked as a broadcast journalist in Montgomery and Birmingham.

Ritchie’s talk is free and open to the public.
