celebrates Black History Month
Pellissippi State has numerous activities planned during
the remainder of February for its 18th Annual Black History
Month observance. This year’s theme is “Embracing
Tradition—Advancing the Cause.” All events are

musical talent featured at annual Sacred Choral Concert
The annual Sacred Choral Concert will feature Pellissippi
State’s Concert Chorale and Variations Ensemble singing
classic, traditional and contemporary sacred music. The
free event takes place in downtown Knoxville at the First
Baptist Church, 510 W. Main St., February 25 at 7 p.m. (more)

hosts Future Teachers Conference February 24
High school and college students who are interested in becoming
teachers and teachers who are early in their career are
invited to attend the one-day Future Teachers Conference
on the Pellissippi Campus February 24. (more)

relations for your business or organization? Learn how to
work with the media from the experts at a free public seminar
at Pellissippi State on February 21. (more)
Throughout 2007 “Inside Pellissippi” will
focus on success stories of faculty or staff members
who have been involved in initiatives to help students.
Of those stories, many will focus on Foundations of
Excellence in the First College Year, which is an
effort specifically aimed at helping first-year students
succeed. Others will focus on student success stories
from various employees who work with students.
