Media buying, public relations topics of seminar

Need to know how to buy local advertising or generate public relations for your business or organization? Learn how to work with the media from the experts at a free public seminar at Pellissippi State on February 21.

"Media Buying and PR: Relationship Marketing at Its Best" will run 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the Goins Auditorium.

Lila Honaker of AC Entertainment, Frank Nystrom of WIVK and Deanene Light from the Knoxville News Sentinel will discuss how clients develop long-term relationships with media representatives and how those relationships impact advertising and public relations strategies. Topics will include the following:
  • Which local media to use for specific audiences
  • How to buy media time and what it costs
  • How to choose between advertising and PR
  • How advertising and PR work together
Pellissippi State's student chapter of the American Marketing Association is hosting the event. The seminar is the first in the chapter's annual spring seminar series. This year's focus is Relationship Marketing.
