Pellissippi State hosts event planning seminar
February 15


The Pellissippi State student chapter of the American Marketing Association will sponsor the 90-minute seminar in the Goins Auditorium on the main Pellissippi campus. The seminar is part of the chapter's "Future of Marketing" series. (more)


‘Body Farm’ founder to speak at Pellissippi State in March

Dr.William Bass, world-renowned forensic anthropologist and founder of the “Body Farm,” will describe some of his work and research in a presentation at Pellissippi State March 2. (more)


'Pellissippi State Hockey Night' at Knoxville Ice Bears February 18

Students, faculty and staff members at Pellissippi State can join the excitement of Knoxville Ice Bears professional ice hockey February 18 at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. (more)


Pellissippi State sponsors February 22 open house for home-schooled students

The open house is designed to acquaint students and parents with Pellissippi State’s dual enrollment programs, in which high school students can earn college credits from community college courses, and academic course offerings. College faculty and staff members also will be present to meet with students.  (more)


Pellissippi State generates $103 million annual economic impact

The 17th annual analysis of the economic impact of Pellissippi State on the Knox and Blount county area shows that the value of business volume, jobs and individual income amounted to about $518 million in the 1999-2004 period, or about $103.6 million each year.  (more)


Pellissippi State, Tennessee Wesleyan join forces to plug nursing shortage

Pellissippi State and Tennessee Wesleyan College hope that a new partnership will encourage more students to pursue careers in health care and help alleviate the current shortage of qualified nurses. (more)


Pellissippi Faculty Council book sale coming in February, March

The Pellissippi State Faculty Council's annual mid-winter book sale is scheduled in late February and early March, and donations of books, tapes and music are now being accepted.

Employee Assistance Program supervisors training, life skills seminar planned March 14 at Pellissippi State

In addition to the training session, a one-hour seminar, "Charting Your Way Through Uncertain Times," will be conducted from 11 a.m. to noon to help employees and students achieve a better balance in life. (more)


Pellissippi State develops new Web site

Pellissippi State will unveil its new Web site home page February 21. Changes include a redesigned front page, new admissions site and updates to many of Pellissippi State's online information sources. (more)  


Second 'Future Teachers Conference' scheduled April 16 at Pellissippi State

Aimed at older high school students, college students and young teachers early in their career, the one-day conference will explore a variety of topics ranging from teaching sciences and guided reading to managing a classroom to using calculators. (more)
