Family members: Husband Sam is retired and daughter Jane is librarian at Middle Tennessee State University.

Something no one knows about you: I was a Tennessee Tech Golden Girl (majorette).

Greatest achievement or proudest moment: I was selected as one of the four top technical teachers in the nation. It was a great honor.

Favorite things outside work: Gardening and growing flowers, cooking desserts, beekeeping.

Most rewarding part of your job: When the light of understanding comes on for a student.

Greatest unfulfilled ambition: I have no idea. I guess maybe travel abroad.

Favorite quote: Posted in my office, a sign says: "Look to this day. Yesterday is already a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision. But today, well-lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope."
