Pellissippi
State hosts conference for future teachers
High
school seniors, college students and others who are interested
in teaching kindergarten through eighth grade are signing
up to attend the first annual Future Teachers Conference
on March 6 at Pellissippi State. Participants will view
presentations on many new teaching methods, including
conducting math and science lessons with a hands-on approach.
These presentations will show prospective teachers how
to engage students beyond the straight lecture method.

Choral
ensembles slated to perform
Pellissippi State’s choral ensembles will present
a Sacred Choral Concert on Sunday, March 14, at 6 p.m.
at First Baptist Church in Knoxville. (more)
Look for
Women’s History Month events
March is Women's History Month, and like every year, Pellissippi
State will offer a number of insightful, interesting,
and inspiring events. The theme this year is “Self
Care Isn’t Selfish: Women & Well-Being.”
Each campus will offer events, including a student poetry
contest for cash prizes, an art exhibit, and a wide range
of expert panels on hot topics like financial freedom,
spirituality, exercise, and the integration of mind, body,
and spirit.
Watch for campus e-mails announcing upcoming events, and
remember to honor the women in your life by attending!

Placement
Office holds Spring Career Fair
The Placement
Office will hold its annual Spring Career Fair on Wednesday,
March 3, 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. in the McWherter Building.
Area employers will be on hand to talk to students about
company openings. TVA, UT Employment, KUB and WVLT-TV
are just a few of the employers expected to participate.
