State honor society taps new members
Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for students
at two-year colleges, will induct new members April 3
at 3 p.m. in the Goins Auditorium on the Pellissippi Campus.
New officers for the next school year also will be elected.

What

Entertainment employees create Pellissippi State scholarship
to honor boss
Working
with Pellissippi State officials, the staff members established
a J.E. Henry Scholarship that will be awarded on a one-time
basis for the fall 2005 school term. Among the criteria
for selection: the student must be new to this college;
must have a financial need, though not have to qualify
for federal or state grants; and must have a 2.75 grade
point average from the last high school or college attended.
Applicants do not have to be associated with Regal Entertainment
Group or its employees.

honors music recital set for March 22
The
students will present both instrumental and vocal selections
during the recital, which will take place at 8 p.m. in
the Performing Arts Center. (more)
Women’s
History Month activities planned throughout March
A
film about the American suffragette movement, a concert
by Knoxville singer-songwriter Maggie Longmire and a student
essay contest are among the highlights of the Women’s
History Month observance at Pellissippi State. (more)
Finding
marketing jobs to be seminar focus
Finding
jobs in marketing and other business fields will be the
topic of two American Marketing Association meetings at
Pellissippi State in March and April. (more)
Pellissippi
State students provided top-rated Webmaster software
Software
the College uses in three of its Web Technology courses—
Foundations of Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW), CIW
Site Design and CIW E-Commerce Design—has won a
top industry award for the second straight year. Prosoft’s
CIW Professional series recently earned a “Readers’
Choice” award from CertCities.com, an online newsletter
for information technology professionals. (more)
