Pellissippi State students provided top-rated Webmaster software
Pellissippi State knows how to pick ’em.
Software the College uses in three of its Web Technology courses—
Foundations of Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW), CIW Site Design
and CIW E-Commerce Design—has won a top industry award for
the second straight year. Prosoft’s CIW Professional series
recently earned a “Readers’ Choice” award from
CertCities.com, an online newsletter for information technology
professionals.
Runners-up in CertCities.com’s survey-based competition
were Macromedia’s Dreamweaver MX Developer certification
and CompTIA’s i-Net+ certification applications.
Pellissippi State’s Web Technology program is offered totally
online, so students from across the state can enroll, seek certification
and earn the Associate of Applied Science degree, regardless of
where they live. In addition to the classes, the College also
offers corresponding certification examinations.
Tennessee high school students and information technology professionals
who receive this certification can be awarded up to 12 hours of
college credit for the CIW certification at Pellissippi State,
and the credits are accepted by some of the state’s four-year
universities.
In addition to the CertCities.com award, the CIW certification
was recognized recently by GoCertify.com as being “among
the most valuable investments” for those who want to gain
recognition for their Web Technology studies.
