Pellissippi State plans events to remind women: ‘Self-care isn’t selfish’

Women and their well-being will be the focus of a number of events scheduled at Pellissippi State throughout the month of March in celebration of Women's History Month. With activities planned at three campuses—Pellissippi, Division Street and Blount County—Women's History Month events will include a student poetry contest for cash prizes, an art exhibit, and a wide range of expert panels on such timely topics as financial freedom, spirituality, exercise, and the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

“Our theme this year is 'Self-Care Isn't Selfish: Women and Well-Being,'” said Annie Gray, co-chair of the College's 2004 Women's History Month celebration. “As always, we have planned inspiring, informative, and entertaining programs covering a wide range of topics and tastes. All of the events are open to the public and we invite everyone to take part—that includes men, too. Participating in Women's History Month is a wonderful way to honor the women in your life!”
