Local teachers who want to upgrade their teaching credentials but not travel a long distance to do so can learn about plans to offer two advanced degree programs through Pellissippi State that are designed specifically for Knoxville area educators. (more)


Career Center partnership recognizes first graduates

The Sheet Metal Workers Pre-apprentice Project, sponsored by the local metal workers union and the Heart of Knoxville Career and Resource Center at the Magnolia Avenue Campus, honored 14 graduates at a special dinner March 22 at the Knox Area Training Center. (more)



Pellissippi State hosts regional middle school math competition April 8

Square roots, integers, fractions and multipliers by the dozens will be the order of the day April 8, as middle schoolers who know their numbers participate in the fourth annual Tennessee Middle School Mathematics Competition. (more)



Study skills workshop series at Pellissippi State in April

A series of three workshops for high school and college students on how to improve study habits will be offered at Pellissippi State in mid-April. (more)



Accelerated Web degree partnership created at Pellissippi State, Tennessee Tech

The state Department of Education and the Tennessee Technology Centers have signed an agreement with Pellissippi State and Tennessee Technological University to accelerate degree completion in certain Web-related fields. (more)



High-performance computing, computer security conference planned for May

The third National Conference on High Performance Computing Technology will take place in Knoxville in late May, bringing public and private computer systems managers from around the country to learn about the latest advances in high-performance computer systems clusters and computer security.
