EMPLOYEE PROFILE
Name:
Deborah White
Title: Financial Aid Assistant
Major responsibilities: I place and monitor
students in the Federal Work-Study program. I also assist students
with all financial aid applications, such as Pell grants, student
loans and scholarships.
Length of service at the College: 9 years
Place of birth: Columbus, Ohio
Family members: My husband, Roy; my three children,
Michael, Crystal, and John; and my two adorable granddaughters,
Kaylee and Ashlee
Something no one knows about you: I have kept
a journal for more than 20 years, recording all dates and important
events. I hope someday my children will find it useful and entertaining.
Also, Deborah has a son in Iraq with the 278th Army National Guard.
Greatest achievement or proudest moment: My
greatest achievement is raising my three children into responsible
and caring adults. My proudest moment was when I married my husband,
Roy. He has been my rock, my lighthouse and my best friend.
Favorite things outside work: I love to garden,
although half the time I don’t know what I am growing. I
love to read, write and go to auctions.
Most rewarding part of your job: Helping students
obtain money to go to school. Sometimes when students feel there
is no hope for them to go to school and we find them a way, they
are so thankful. It makes you feel that you are making a difference
in people’s lives.
Greatest unfulfilled ambition: I always wanted
to be a writer.
Favorite quote: “Lots of people will ride
with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take
the bus with you when the limo breaks down.” Oprah Winfrey
