Study skills workshop series at Pellissippi State in April

A series of three workshops for high school and college students on how to improve study habits will be offered at Pellissippi State in mid-April.

The 2005 Study Smart Workshops will cover such topics as coping with test-taking anxiety and dealing with stress.

The three sessions:
  • “How to Study Smart,” April 12, 4-5:30 p.m., which will explore such strategies as organizing for effective time management, overcoming procrastination, reading textbooks effectively and setting goals.
  • “Tips for Taking Tests and Reducing Test Anxiety,” April 13, 4-5:30 p.m., which will offer instruction on the best strategies for effective test taking and tips for reducing anxiety associated with test taking.
  • “Dealing With Life Stresses,” April 14, 4-5:30 p.m., which will help participants understand what stress is and how it affects us, some common circumstances and events that cause stress, and specific ways of coping with and managing stress.
The workshops are free and open to the public. They will take place in the Goins Cafeteria Annex.
