Mayor Mike Ragsdale to speak at commencement

Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale will be the speaker at Pellissippi State’s commencement May 5 at Thompson-Boling Arena on the University of Tennessee campus.

Approximately 700 students will receive their degree in a ceremony that begins at 7 p.m.

Mayor Ragsdale was elected Knox County mayor in 2002, but his early career includes years of service at the College. While earning his doctoral degree in education from UT, Ragsdale became director of Admissions and Records here. He was promoted to dean of Administrative Affairs in 1981 and served as liaison to the Tennessee Board of Regents.
