Cathy Ackermann, who heads her own Knoxville public relations firm, will be the guest speaker at Pellissippi State's graduation May 8, when more than 700 students will receive associate's degrees. (more)

Nearly 60 students will receive top honors at Pellissippi State's annual Academic Awards Ceremony April 18.(more)



English, reading awards to be presented April 13 at Pellissippi State

Annual 'Artique' scheduled April 29

Retired state Sen. Ben Atchley and his wife, Sue, will serve as guest hosts for the third annual "Artique," a fine art and antiques auction that benefits Pellissippi State students and programs.

Lana Seivers, Tennessee's commissioner of education, will be the keynote speaker at Pellissippi State's second annual Future Teachers Conference April 16. (more)



Murder mystery game to involve audience at Blount County Center

"Murder at the Four Deuces," set in the Roaring '20s, will be presented by Pellissippi State's Drama Club April 16 at 6 p.m. in the Student Lounge on Middlesettlements Road in Alcoa. The evening also will include an Italian dinner and live jazz. Cosponsor is the Council of Student Advocates. (more)


Pellissippi State spring choral concert set for April 26

Two singing groups, the Concert Chorale and the Variations Ensemble, will present traditional choral music from a variety of artistic periods and will conclude with selections from the popular Broadway musical "Les Miserables" on April 26 at 8 p.m. (more)


Non-credit courses at Pellissippi State focus on fishing, family, flora

On your way either to fly-fish or climb your family tree, you could stop off and learn about edible wild plants. These are topics of three out-of-the-ordinary non-credit courses offered this spring at Pellissippi State. (more)
