Career Expo, Summer Job Festival set for Career Center in April
The Heart of Knoxville Career and Resource Center will sponsor two job- and career-related events at Pellissippi State's Magnolia Avenue Campus this month.
The annual Summer Employment Festival is scheduled April 13, 1-4 p.m., and is aimed mainly at high school students age 16 and older who want part-time and full-time summer employment. Adults seeking such employment also are welcome.
Businesses that expect to have part-time and full-time positions available during the summer months and want to recruit prospective employees are encouraged to participate.
The center's Career Expo 2005 on April 28, meanwhile, will be set up for local businesses to recruit prospective employees in the areas of administration, customer service, health care, construction trades and business-technology. The focus of this event is full-time employment opportunities in specific categories in the work force.
The Expo will take place 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Both events are free of charge to those who want to attend and to
businesses that want to participate. For additional information
on either event, contact Bryan T. May, 329-3166 or btmay@pstcc.edu.
The Heart of Knoxville Career and Resource Center, which is part of Pellissippi State's Magnolia Avenue Campus, is financed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the city of Knoxville. The center provides a wide range of job-search resources and assistance Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Fridays, 8 a.m.-noon.
