Inside Pellissippi

Pellissippi State's top students to be recognized April 18

Nearly 60 students will receive top honors at Pellissippi State's annual Academic Awards Ceremony April 18.

Jennifer Cline and Naike Moshi will be recognized as All-USA Community and Junior College Academic Team members. Cline, from Knoxville, will receive a general Associate of Science degree, while Moshi, formerly from Tanzania and now from Knoxville, will receive an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Accounting.

Eight students have been named to Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges: Jodie A. Ball, Susana B. Esrequis, Diana A. Lowrie and Naike Moshi of Knoxville; Ramona S. Ferguson and Glenda Kay Witt of Alcoa; Connie Sue Blair of Maryville; and Mitch E. Feghaly of Powell.

In addition, approximately 30 students will be honored as the top students in their respective departmental programs, and 16 students will receive the African-American Excellence Awards for graduating with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0.

The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center and is open to the public.
